BACKGROUND
The High Technology Foundation has been successfully bringing high-tech jobs to West Virginia for a decade. Since 2010, we have recruited the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U.S. Department of Commerce, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to our campus.
West Virginia has proven to be an attractive draw for these Federal agencies for two reasons:
1) The High Technology Foundation provides free land to federal anchors in our 400-acre technology park. The park is specially designed to provide the electrical and telecommunications infrastructure needed to operate major high-tech programs.
2) Washington, D.C. and its surrounding area is one of the most expensive, congested regions on the Eastern seaboard. Not only is the cost of living (and doing business) significantly lower in West Virginia, but it’s also easy for people with ties to D.C. and northern Virginia to stay connected with family and national offices there. The natural beauty and charm of the Mountain State is icing on the cake.
In addition to the high-paying contracting positions available with these agencies, our technology park is also home to over 30 businesses including General Dynamics, Electronic Warfare Associates, Inc., FirstEnergy Corp., Leidos, ManTech International Corporation, Northrop Grumman, Spectrum, GST, Healthcare Management Solutions LLC, and the National White Collar Crime Center.
